An organisation set up to develop local recovery communities, CICs and social enterprise opportunities, EF has established itself across England and is presently employing 70 people to deliver housing, service user support and training services for the larger institutions. Turnover has grown by 200% in 30 months, forecast at £3m for 2019-20. Critically, 80% of its employees are expert by experience.

An established charity with an international reputation for promoting and developing community volunteering using time credits. For every one hour gifted, the volunteer earns a credit which may be ‘spent’ with one of Tempo’s spend network partners such as shops, cinemas or visitor attractions.

October 2000 – October 2013, Chief Executive, Crime Reduction Initiatives (CRI)

David grew the organisation from £60k to £116m annual turnover. During his tenure the service user group grew from 90 people per annum to 42,000 people per week, reserves grew from £120k to £14m and the charity topped the performance tables at the National Treatment Agency for 9 successive years. As part of its activities, the charity prescribed Class A substitute medication to 18,000 people per week, making it the largest single specialist provider of addiction recovery services in the UK, including the NHS Trusts.
